Approach
I pull from a variety of types of therapy
depending on your needs. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I am an engaged therapist, offering clear tools and guidance when wanted.
I work well with those looking for something beyond traditional psychotherapy. Those who connect with a fresh, holistic approach to the therapy space. I work best with clients who take responsibility for their healing process. Who show up with intention and focus for session. I work with depth and efficiency.
Holistic
My approach is holistic in that I take into account your whole self - emotional, psychological, physical, environmental, and spiritual. We collaborate to address the root causes of your struggles rather than putting a bandaid on symptoms.
Depth Psychotherapy
I hold a masters degree in depth psychotherapy from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Exploring the unconscious aspects of the human experience, depth psychotherapy includes accessing dreams, metaphor, and archetypes. Depth psych is non-pathologizing and affirms your strengths and self-understanding.
Solution Focused
This evidence-based therapeutic approach helps you construct solutions. I am an active therapist - I offer tools, skills, and guidance when needed. In addition, I draw on what you love and what already works for you in building your support system.
Internal Family Systems Therapy
Known as IFS, this modality addresses the many parts we all have. With this approach, multiplicity is seen as the norm and every part has a good intention for us and is of value. IFS is a non-pathologizing, accelerated approach rooted in neuroscience. It applies inner resources and self-compassion for healing emotional wounding.
Somatic (body-based) Therapy & Mindfulness
Using somatic techniques, I guide you in listening to and connecting to your body. Therapy is much more effective if talking is combined with body awareness and opportunities to connect to physical sensations or to release trauma and tension from the body. When it makes sense, I guide my clients in meditations, grounding exercises, and visualizations.
Emotionally Focused Therapy
I am certified in level 1 of Emotionally Focused Therapy. This type of therapy, known as EFT, was developed from attachment science. EFT is best known as a cutting-edge and proven intervention for couples but is also used to address individual depression, anxiety, and PTSD and helps to repair relationships.
Life Coaching
Sometimes I blend in life coaching techniques to support you in integrating our work into your life vision. For some, it is helpful to balance the work we do in delving into the past with how you want to move forward in your life. This may include creating intentions for the month or year or clear manifestation practices for creating the conditions for what you most desire.
Ecotherapy
As a certified Ecotherapist, I enjoy using tools from ecotherapy (nature-based therapies) to support your healing. This includes encouraging you to expand on your connection to plants, animals, or places. And to engage with nature as a source for your healing in addition to people. For some, I provide “nature prescriptions” for activities or time to spend in nature.
